Larry Summers Retires from Harvard Amid Epstein Ties Review

Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Larry Summers is retiring from all his roles at Harvard University following a review of his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. While neither Summers nor Nobel laureate Richard Axel (who resigned from his leadership role at Columbia University a day prior) have been accused of misconduct, millions of documents released by the Justice Department have exposed their extensive associations with the late financier. Summers expressed 'regret' over the controversy but stated he looks forward to continuing his research as a retired professor.
